What is VibePay?
VibePay is a social payment initiation service. It enables users to request and receive payments instantly by linking their bank account securely, via the Open Banking technology. In less techy lingo, VibePay is an app that lets you request money from friends and get paid back.

Why should I use VibePay?
To get paid back by your friends. VibePay takes the pain and awkwardness out of asking for money back.

Is it safe to transfer money through VibePay?
It’s very safe since each individual transaction has to be authorised via the user’s online banking provider. That means no transactions will be made from the account without the user’s consent. With Open Banking, you only share your security credentials with the bank you use and trust – we never see it.

What’s the difference between VibePay and a normal bank transfer
With VibePay, you don’t have to ask for your friends’ sort codes and account numbers. All they need is your VibeMe link to easily pay you back.

Can I initiate a payment with the VibePay app?
Sure, all you need is a payment request or VibeMe link. Once you have paid your friends once using their link it's also super easy to pay them again and again in app - even if they switch bank accounts.

How does VibePay ensure user security?
VibePay is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, which means we have to follow a set of rules designed to keep consumers safe. We have strict policies for everything from how our employees choose their email passwords to how we treat our users’ personal data.

Why should I open a VibePay account when I already have a bank account?
VibePay is not a bank, and therefore you do not have to open a new account to use VibePay. Simply connect your current bank account to VibePay and request money from any of your friends, regardless of who they bank with. The fancy name for that is bank-agnostic.

Will you start charging users money?
Nope, VibePay will always be 100% free for consumers.

My friend sent me a link requesting money through VibePay. Can I pay even though I don’t have the app?
Right now you need an account to pay payment links.

Why is my bank not on the list?
We’re working hard on getting more banks integrated, sorry it’s taking a while. Post in the forum or ping us a tweet to let us know which bank you want to use VibePay with, and we’ll make sure to get to it next.

What is Open Banking?
Open banking is a new set of rules where banks have to allow their customers to share their own transaction data with third parties. Open Banking is great for us consumers – it means that we own our account information, not the banks.

What does it mean that VibePay is bank-agnostic?
It means that it doesn’t matter who you or your friends bank with, with VibePay you can easily request money you’re owed. No need to set up a new account or go through countless steps to add new recipients.

Why do I need a PIN in the app?
We want to keep your sensitive information as safe as possible. If you enable biometrics you'll only need your PIN as a fallback or when signing into a new device, so it shouldn't be too intrusive!
