New update. New screens. Same security.

VibePay

July 28, 2023

Happy Friday, Vibe Community. VibePay v3.19 is here and brings with it some important improvements. Alongside bug fixes, we’ve added some new reminders as to how to stay safe, particularly when making larger transactions.

To understand why this matters, it’s crucial to remember how VibePay works, and what makes us different from other payment apps that you might’ve used in the past. VibePay is a bank agnostic payments service that utilises Open Banking technology. This means that regardless of who you bank with, you can make instant, free transactions from one bank to another, without having to share your personal details or fiddly sort codes and account numbers.

VibePay is not a wallet based app, which means that we never touch, hold or interfere with your money at any stage in any transaction. This is great; it means that you’ll never have to worry about waiting to get paid. Your money is where you need it to be, when you want it to be. It also means that you must treat every payment you make with VibePay like you would a bank transfer. It’s vital that you know who you’re paying, and that you can trust them. Once your money has been sent, it will arrive instantly in the recipient's chosen bank account. Since we don’t hold onto that money at any stage in the transfer, we won’t be able to retrieve it once it’s there. We’ve added new screens that you’ll see when sending large amounts, to remind you of this.

If you believe you’ve fallen victim to scam or fraud whilst using VibePay, please report the incident to help@vibepay.com where we will advise.

Have a great weekend, best wishes
