Change is never easy, especially when it involves a feature people are familiar with. So we want to be open about an upcoming decision at VibePay, and explain the thinking behind it.
From March 2026, we’ll be pausing peer-to-peer (P2P) payments in the VibePay app.
Until then, P2P payments will continue to work as normal.
We wanted to share with you why we’re doing it, and what it allows us to build next.
At VibePay, we’re building a payments experience designed around one core idea: making everyday spending more rewarding.
As we’ve evolved the product and listened to our users, it’s become clear that the biggest opportunity, and the biggest impact, lies in rewarding the payments people make every day, not the money they occasionally send between friends.
Pausing P2P allows us to focus our time, energy and investment on building that rewards-first experience properly.
Many apps try to do everything at once. We’ve chosen a different path.
Rather than offering lots of features with limited depth, we’re focusing on building one standout experience, one that rewards real-life spending consistently, fairly, and at scale.
By stepping back from P2P, we can move faster and go deeper on:
This isn’t about doing less.
It’s about doing what matters most, better.
First and foremost, nothing changes right now.
From March 2026 onwards, VibePay will focus fully on being a rewards-first payments app, built around where you already spend.
We believe this delivers more long-term value for more people, and creates a clearer, more rewarding reason to use VibePay regularly.
Pausing P2P is a deliberate, considered step that gives us the space to build what comes next properly.
Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing more about:
Our goal is simple: to make rewarding everyday spending the norm, not the exception.
We know changes like this raise questions, and we appreciate everyone who’s been part of the VibePay journey so far.
We’re excited about what this focus unlocks, and we’re confident it leads to a better, more rewarding experience for the long term.
It really does pay to use VibePay in 2026.
